How to book Billy Hodgetts as your celebrant. From the first note to the signing, in plain steps.
1. You write
Send the date, the place, and a sentence about the two of you. If you only have a month and a town, that is enough to start.
2. I tell you if I am free
If I can do it, I will say what is included and what travel will cost. If I cannot, I will say so quickly.
3. We talk
In person around Deniliquin, or by phone or video if you are further out. This is where I learn the story, the people, and the things you do not want said.
4. You lodge the notice
A marriage in Australia needs a Notice of Intended Marriage, lodged with me at least one month before the wedding. I will tell you what to bring. Do not leave this to the week before.
5. We write it
I draft. You change it. We stop when it sounds like you.
6. The day
I arrive early, meet the witnesses, and run the ceremony. You get married. Then, if I am your MC, I pick up the microphone.
7. After you say ‘I do’
Paperwork sorted and submitted to Births, Deaths and Marriages to make it official. All done on your behalf. It is now time for your happily ever after
What does it cost?
A clear fee is kinder than a surprise on the invoice. Travel is quoted for the place, not hidden in the ceremony.
The shape of the day is decided with you. These are the ways of working. The fee depends on the date, the place, and whether you want me for the ceremony, the party, or both. Tell me those three things and I will send a quote.
Legals only. The marriage, without the ceremony written around it. The Notice, the legal words, and the signing. Couple and two witnesses, about ten minutes. From $550.
Elopement. The two of you, and a few people who matter. A shorter ceremony, still written with you. One meeting, the paperwork, the signing. Up to 10 guests. From $850
Ceremony. Two meetings, a ceremony written from your story, vow help if you want it, a rehearsal if you want one, and a steady person on the day. From $1250
Ceremony and MC. One person from the aisle to the last speech. Run sheet, speakers spoken to beforehand, time watched. From $1850
MC only. If someone else is marrying you. The welcome, the introductions, the nervous speaker. From $650
Speaker. A speaker and microphone if the wind is going to get into the vows. Mention it and it goes on the quote.
Travel. Within 100 km of Deniliquin is part of the booking. Further out, quoted before you book.
What is not included
Venue, permits, music, or a marriage licence from another country. If you need something unusual, ask before you assume it is in the fee.
A booking is confirmed when the deposit is paid and the date is in the diary.
