Wedding ceremonies for every couple

Legal wedding ceremonies written with you. Billy Hodgetts, marriage celebrant for Deniliquin, rural NSW and VIC.

The wedding ceremony

The legal parts have to be there. Everything around them is yours.

We can keep it short. We can give the siblings, the parents and the old friends a proper part. We can leave out the stories you do not want the whole paddock to hear. Your Ceremony, Your Way means the shape of the day is decided with you, not handed over in a folder.

What we write together

A welcome that sounds like the room you are in.

The story of how you got here, told once, and told truly.

Readings, if you want them. None, if you do not.

Vows you have written, vows we write together, or the simple legal words.

Ring words, if you are exchanging rings.

The signing, unhurried.

A way out of the ceremony that tells people what happens next.

Where

Homes, gardens, stations, woolsheds, vineyards, riverbanks, halls and registry offices.

If the place is legal and safe, we can work with it. I am based in Deniliquin and travel across rural NSW and VIC. Travel beyond that is a conversation, well worth it and never out of the question.

Before the day

We meet, in person or by video, and talk.

You tell me the stories, the people, and the tone.

I draft the ceremony.

You mark it up. We change it until it sounds like you or leave it with me to be a surprise on the day.

We do a run-through if you want one, especially if someone is nervous.

On the day

I bring the printed ceremony, the paperwork, and a spare pen.

We get through it together, every step of the way.

A note on the legal parts

I will explain the Notice of Intended Marriage, the witnesses, and the words that have to be said. Those parts are not optional. The rest of the ceremony is.
